Rubber crumb is a durable safety surface which is highly recommended for playgrounds, since it is a softer surface than concrete which, in turn, minimises injuries to children falling from height from play equipment. Practically all playgrounds are required to conform to safety standards requiring rubber crumb surfacing beneath all play equipment and Pro Paving install rubber crumb matting in play areas, kindergartens and nurseries throughout Kent and neighbouring areas. Known as a wet pour rubber safety surfacing, this two-layered system, also referred to as ‘rubber tarmac’ or ‘soft tarmac’, comes in a wide range of colours including yellow, green, blue and red and is impact-absorbing, making it perfect as a safety surface.
